BlogsJames Spann and the crew at ABC 33/40 in Birmingham, AL using Brett Adair's live stream to cover Tornado Warnings on April 11, 2008: The live streaming starts at 1:35 into the video. Clip from KAIT in Jonesboro, AR during the tornado outbreak on May 2, 2008. Ryan Vaughan and his crew were watching the live stream off to the side while covering the Earle, AR tornado. At the time KAIT did not have a licensing agreement to take the video feed live to air, but were still watching the feed to give play-by-play to their viewers of what was happening on Brett Adair's stream. Here's what was being seen on Brett's stream as KAIT was watching: Here are screenshots I took of active storm chasing in Texas on Monday 4/7.
These were captured while the storm chasers were driving. As you can see, the feed hosted by Ustream (www.ustream.tv) is very blocky and "pixelated". In comparison, the SevereStreaming feed is much clearer. Also notice there is no annoying logo over the video. There's really no comparison to SevereStreaming.
